Five questions to answer before a church outreach campaign
Prepare a church outreach campaign with a clear purpose, useful contribution details, delivery instructions, supporter information, and accurate progress reporting.
Someone wants to help your outreach campaign. They open the page and cannot tell which items are needed, when to bring them, or whether the church is also accepting money. Those are questions the launch page should answer.
TheFaithApp’s Outreach Campaigns brings campaign descriptions, cash and item needs, delivery details, supporter records, and public campaign pages into one workflow. Before activating a campaign and sharing it, review these five questions as a team.
1. What are we trying to accomplish?
Write a concrete description of the need and the intended use of contributions. Explain enough for someone outside the planning meeting to understand it. Give the campaign clear dates and an owner for questions.
A useful opening template:
“From [start date] to [end date], [church] is collecting [specific items or cash support] for [purpose]. Here is what is needed and how to take part.”
2. What can people contribute?
Confirm whether the campaign accepts cash, items, or both. List requested items and their goals. Be specific about condition, quantity, or suitability when those details affect what your team can use.
3. Where does a contribution go next?
Review delivery instructions before launch. Put the place, receiving times, contact, and any preparation instructions together. A supporter should not need to ask three people where to leave a donated item.
4. What information do we need from supporters?
Use campaign-specific Donor Forms for additional supporter information when it serves the campaign. Ask for details your team can explain and use. These forms are separate from the broader Forms workspace for church intake and follow-up.
5. What progress can we accurately report?
Review pledged and received support separately. A promise to bring items is useful for planning, but the team still needs to know what has arrived. Where Giving campaign goals are configured, received monetary progress uses settled gifts; pledges and payment attempts do not inflate it.
After those checks, activate the campaign, generate the public link, and open it as a supporter would. Check the description, donation types, timeline, delivery information, and next steps. The current public donation flow asks supporters to sign in before completing a donation.
Assign someone to review new activity and keep the page current throughout the campaign. Explore Outreach Campaigns and request church access. Requests are reviewed before setup.
