Test your church connection card before sharing the link
Build a church connection card around the next step a visitor wants. Review reply preferences, useful contact details, permissions, and response ownership.
Before adding another question to your connection card, decide what the answer will help your team do.
A useful card gives a visitor a way to ask for a next step. It also gives the church enough context to respond. Here is a compact starting point you can adapt to your ministry.
Begin with the action
Choose the requests the welcome team can actually handle: learn about a group, ask about serving, discuss membership, or request a conversation. Use a short choice list and an optional space for a question. Avoid collecting a full personal history during an introduction.
Collect contact details when they are needed
A visitor browsing or sharing a comment may not want a reply. When they do ask to be contacted, you need a usable email address or phone number. TheFaithApp’s connection-card template can require a contact field when the reply choice is selected.
Make the permission understandable
Explain who will respond and what the contact information will be used for. Separate a requested conversation from ongoing announcements. Use wording your church has reviewed for its own process.
Choose the response owner before sharing the link
Agree on who reviews submissions, who handles each type of interest, and what happens when the first owner is unavailable. TheFaithApp lets your team keep response ownership, due dates, priority, and private notes beside the submitted answers.
Test it as a visitor
Open the public link on a phone. Submit one fictional response that requests a reply and one that does not. Read the confirmation screen. Then find both responses in the staff workspace and practice the handoff.
A starting card could contain:
- Name
- The next step I am interested in
- An optional question
- Whether I would like a reply
- A contact method when I request one
Use a public link, QR code, or website embed that leads to the same reviewed form. If you revise the questions later, TheFaithApp keeps each response tied to the published version the visitor completed.
Bring this template to your next welcome-team meeting. Remove any question that has no clear purpose or responsible follow-up person.
